Private inpatient accommodation for children
The paediatric unit is open at all times for elective and urgent admissions. Across 3 wards, the 41-bed unit offers a comfortable, calm and reassuring 'home from home' environment to accommodate any length of stay.
The paediatric unit is equipped with advanced medical technology and facilities. Should the need arise a 6-bedded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 6-bedded Special Care Baby Unit and a 3-bedded Paediatric High Dependency Unit are available with dedicated staff assigned to the children under their care.
Outpatient facilities at The Portland Hospital in London
The Children's Outpatient department is offers a comprehensive range of paediatric specialities and diagnostic services.
Arranged over six floors, over seventy specialist paediatric consultants are available for appointments supported by team of dedicated and enthusiastic nurses available to offer help, advice and clinical services.
Neurological Rehabilitation Unit for Children and Young People
The Portland Hospital's Acute Neurological Rehabilitation Unit for Children and Young People is purpose built and all of the facilities have been adapted to meet the needs of this specialist service. A state of the art gymnasium is located within the heart of the unit. In addition the Portland Hospital has established acute services such as an Intensive Treatment Unit (ITU), Diagnostic services and comprehensive surgical services. The Portland Hospital also benefits from the expertise of their sister hospital, (The Wellington Acute Neurological Rehabilitation Unit).
Paediatric physiotherapy at The Portland Hospital
The hospital's specialist team of paediatric physiotherapists provides a high standard of assessment, treatment and care for babies and children. Their aim is to meet the realistic expectations of each child and their family, whilst maximising the potential of every child's social and physical lifestyle, promoting development into adulthood.
All of the paediatric physiotherapists are registered with The Health Professional Council (HPC) and include members of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MSCP). They have extensive clinical experience and regularly update their knowledge by undertaking postgraduate courses and training.
Paediatric imaging services
The Imaging Services Department offers a wide range of examinations in a child friendly environment by a skilled team of consultant radiologists, sonographers and radiographers. Throughout all examinations, your child's wellbeing is their priority and staff will make them feel as comfortable and at ease as possible.

The International Patient Center (IPC) was established to cater exclusively to the medical needs of foreign clients, including expatriates, tourists and patients from abroad, by providing the highest quality medical treatment and services.
