Nine consultant neurosurgeons, all of whom hold senior positions at London renowned teaching hospitals, treat the full range of adult neurosurgical conditions including brain tumours, degenerative disease of the spine including nerve compression, vascular conditions such as cerebral aneurysms and brain or spinal injuries.
The Wellington has the largest diagnostic and imaging unit in the private sector and facilities include two MRI scanners and an ultrafast 64 slice CT plus the full range of X-ray and Ultrasound technology.
Depending on the circumstances of each patient, where surgery is required, a consultant can arrange for the operation to be performed without delay or, for less acute cases, at a mutually convenient time.
Anaesthetic services are provided by experienced specialist neuroanaesthetists and post-operative care is provided by an intensive care unit situated immediately adjacent to the theatre suite. Unique in the private sector, the hospital has over 50 critical care beds and two level three Intensive Care Units.
If surgery is not necessary, the Wellington Hospital offers a full range of other services including specialist pain relief and neurorehabilitation. Radio surgery and radiotherapy using the latest technology is also available when required.
