FertilityCareSA helps infertile women to build families using donated eggs. In most cases, the egg recipients are women who previously were unable to conceive a pregnancy with their own eggs due to either ovarian failure, a depleted or diminished ovarian reserve, a lack of ovaries, or a lack of success after repeated attempts to use their own eggs. For all these women, egg donation by a healthy egg donor may allow their dreams of having a family to come true.

Why come to South Africa for an IVF with an egg donor?

South Africa is one of the world’s most popular destination for recipients needing IVF with an egg donor90% of FCSA's current recipients are from Europe and Australia.

South Africa is popular with the international recipients needing IVF with an egg donor for the following reasons:

  1. South Africa is widely known for its world-class standards of medical care and highly trained medical professionals.

  2. Because of South Africa’s diverse population, it is able to offer the most diverse egg donor pool from different ethinic backgrounds.

  3. FCSA doesn’t have a waiting list for egg donors, most of their egg donors are almost immediately avaliable.

  4. A further and significant draw to South Africa  is the 100% anonymity granted to donors and recipients alike by the current law.

  5. Although the recipient's and donor’s identities are protected, FCSA does provide very detailed information of all egg donors ie their personal details, height, weight, eye colour, hair colour, skin tone. Donor’s medical history including her families medical history, donor’s level of education, aspirations in life and their hobbies, the donor also gets an opportunity to write a letter to possible recipients through her profile. FCSA will also share with recipients a picture of the donor at an age where she is not more than 12 years old, allowing all recipients to make an informed choice.

  6. The success rate of an IVF with an egg donor from medical institutions FCSA is associated with is recorded at 60% to 70%.

  7. Of course South Africa’s undeniably diverse tourist attractions and stunning scenery makes it an ideal place to combine your IVF treatment with a vacation.

  • FCSA has a hands-on philosophy with both egg donors and recipients, taking time to achieve the best result.

  • FertilityCareSA works with only the very best, accredited institutions in Africa who are registered with their specialist associations and adhere to those professional codes of conduct. All their medical specialist partners are pioneers in the fertility industry and internationally recognised.

  • FCSA egg donors are of high calibre and are aged between 21 and 31. They all go through extensive evaluation prior to becoming a donor. They complete a detailed questionnaire detailing their medical and family history, donor's education level and occupation. They also have a full gynaecological evaluation and psychological assessment by a clinical psychologist. They all have the following blood tests performed – HIV, CMV, RPR (for syphilis) and Hepatitis B and C serology. Additional tests may also be requested by the recipients. All tests are in line with international legislation and best-practice guidelines.
