Dr Sinclair is a Consultant Chartered Psychologist, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a Chartered Scientist. He provides high quality psychology, counselling and psychotherapy services, assessment, and treatment in Harley Street and Liverpool Street, London.

Dr Sinclair is also the founding Director, Head Psychologist and Clinical Service Director of City Psychology Group.

Dr Sinclair is a skilled practitioner and an expert in providing cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), systemic, psychodynamic and person centred therapy and counselling. He is skilled at helping clients solve their problems in a solution focussed, fast and effective way. He also provides psychological consultancy, coaching, and supervision to celebrities, top executives and 'blue chip' organisations in the City of London.

Dr Sinclair has a number of years of clinical experience in both the National Health Service and the private sector, treating individuals, couples, families and groups who have experienced a wide range of emotional difficulties and more severe mental health problems. He has held positions as a psychologist within hospitals, specialist mental health clinics, schools, and GPs' surgeries and currently holds practising privileges at the Priory Hospital.

He fulfilled the role of Lead Specialist Psychologist in HIV/HCV co-infection at The Royal Free Hospital, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of psychological assessments for patients starting invasive treatment before establishing his private practice in central London. He is the Founding Director and Head Psychologist of City Psychology Group; an independent group practice of chartered psychologists and other related health and medical professionals. He is an experienced clinical supervisor and continues to be involved in the training and supervision of other psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors.

Training and research

Dr Sinclair completed his extensive training at Manchester University, London Metropolitan University, The University of Essex, The Tavistock Clinic and The Royal Free Hospital, London. He has held various positions as specialist trainer and lecturer at City UniversityRoche Pharmaceuticals and The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine. He has lectured in Aviation Psychology, Cultural Transition and Change, Psychology and Management Skills, Interviewing, Selection and Recruitment, Stress Management and Psychological Implications of Medical Treatments.

Dr Sinclair's has a number of different research interests including the development and implementation of independent private psychology services, focussed, brief psychological therapy, mental health in the corporate work place, and the psychological impact of illness on the individual and family.

Dr Sinclair has published his research in academic journals and as well as presented at international professional conferences. Dr Sinclair is a skilled clinician, researcher, writer and trainer. His latest book out to purchase in 2009 is on mental health and coping in the corporate workplace.

As an advisor to the media, Dr Sinclair has a history of working closely with journalists, broadcasters and program makers. He has provided expert commentary and psychological insight on a range of topics, breaking news incidents and celebrity conduct. With his ‘down-to-earth’ communication style and impressive academic background he has developed skills at presenting psychology in a non-scientific way and made it accessible to a wide variety of audiences. He is passionate about psychology and about raising awareness of it in wider society.
