General surgeons

General surgeons undertake surgical treatment of abdominal organs, e.g. intestines including the oesophagus, stomach, colon, liver, gallbladder and bile ducts. General surgery also often includes the thyroid gland (depending on the availability of head and neck surgery specialists) and hernias.
