Dr Leslie administers Cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen

Training and experience in dermatology treatment
Dr Leslie studied Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital
Medical School, University of London. During her training she gained an
MRC award to intercalate a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurosciences
at the University College London and achieved First Class Honours with
publications, before completing her medical training.
After qualifying from The Royal Free, University of
London Dr Leslie completed a broad general medical training and obtained
the membership of the Royal College of Physicians in London before
gaining extensive experience in adult and paediatric Dermatology at the
University College London and Middlesex Hospitals. During her training
she undertook clinical and scientific research with extensive
publications including a paper in Nature as well as many original
articles, reviews and clinical case reports.
Dr Leslie has a busy NHS practice looking after
outpatients and inpatient referrals from clinical colleagues in the
hospitals. She is involved in a weekly rapid access skin cancer clinic
and general dermatology clinics seeing routine and urgent patients with a
variety of skin diseases. Dr Leslie took over rooms at 70 Harley
Street from Dr Andrew Griffiths who has now retired. Dr Leslie
participates in mutli-disciplinary meetings (MDM) with the Royal Free
Hospital, and also attends the North London Skin Tumour board meetings
also with the University College London Hospital.
Teaching
Dr Leslie was jointly responsible for setting up and
teaching on the Barnet MRCP Course. She teaches a number of medical
students, trainees and doctors sitting the MRCP exams, and also teaches
doctors on the Dermatology MSc course at the Middlesex University. Dr
Leslie has been involved in teaching General Medicine as well as
Dermatology clinical lecture/seminar sessions for GPs. The GPs and their
registrars have been encouraged to attend clinics as teaching sessions.
She has also organised teaching sessions for the Hospital Juniors in
other departments including specific lectures to trainees in Medicine,
Care of the Elderly, Paediatric, Accident & Emergency departments as
well as those on the GP VTS Training Scheme.
Dr Leslie's continuing education as a Consultant Dermatologist in London
In order to continuously keep updated for
professional development, Dr Leslie attends the Medical Grand Rounds and
participates in Medical Audit. Dr Leslie attends monthly meetings at
the Royal Society of Medicine and the St John’s Dermatological Society
at St Thomas' Hospital London. Dr Leslie also attends national and
international meetings regularly.
Dr Leslie has published an extensive number of
scientific papers including the prestigious scientific journal Nature.
Her research was undertaken in the Neurosciences and Anatomy Departments
at University College London and the Dermatology department at
University College and Middlesex hospitals. She has also published
clinical papers and review articles which she presented at national and
international meetings.
During her time as a Consultant she has written
articles for magazines such as Health Which, worked on a health panel
for 2 ½ years for FHM Magazine, and has appeared on television for The
Baby Channel and The Beauty Channel giving advice to the public.
